How Dog & Cat Door Installation in Glass Works
Installing a dog or cat door into glass is different from installing one into timber or aluminium. Toughened safety glass cannot be cut after it has been manufactured. Instead, we first measure your existing glass, then manufacture a brand-new toughened glass panel with the pet door opening cut before the glass is toughened. Once it’s ready, we replace the existing panel and professionally install your new pet door.
How It Works
1. We Measure Your Glass
We visit your home or business and carefully measure the existing glass panel to ensure the replacement fits perfectly.
2. We Manufacture New Toughened Glass
Because toughened safety glass cannot be cut after manufacture, a brand-new glass panel is made with the pet door opening already cut before the glass is toughened.
3. We Install Your New Glass & Pet Door
Once your new glass panel is ready, we remove the old panel, install the new one and fit your chosen dog or cat door.

How long does pet door installation take?
The onsite installation usually takes around one hour. Because your replacement glass panel is custom manufactured, the entire process generally takes around 7 business days from measure to installation.
Can you install pet doors in double glazed glass?
Yes. We can install pet doors into many double glazed units by replacing the insulated glass unit with a new one manufactured with the pet door opening already incorporated.
